The Epic Use of Tools, Genius, And Just Plain Luck!!

Alright here it goes Miss Amber has to make a confession. (deep breath) I am not tool savy, nor could you really use the word Handy and Miss Amber in the same sentence.
I know, you are all shocked! I mean to find out that Miss Amber the most creative, funny,  stilletto sporting girl we all love is not Handy! THE HORROR!!!
Well its the truth, to be completely honest I really never even dreamed of using a hammer, screw driver, nor was I ever really asked to before working for a cowgirl. You see I can do miracles with a hot glue gun, hand me a BeDazzler and I can create designs that would not only shock but amaze you, but as for the use of tools ya no.
I believe that Miss Ryan is well rubbing off on me. You see I have always been a can do it girl, but alas if it needed to be built well I left that to my Joe. After all he has tools, a garage, and well the guy can even name all the tools! So you can imagine the shock when well Miss Ryan asked me to use a drill! Or wait for it she finds it funny to ask me to get her silly things like a standard or a phillups screwdriver, and even while I am typing this I am amazed at the amount of tools that she has had me use, name, and become familiar enough with that wait for it..... Miss Amber has even started going for them when she has a project idea!
deep breath, deep breath, ok getting the paper bag.....
give me a sec.....
i am fine....
no really....
OK I am back had a bit of well a panic attack at the fact that I Miss Amber have just admitted to using, and trying to use tools at will! I know I am just as shocked and in awe at  this discovery as you are!
But today it happened! You see Miss Ryan with all her amazing talent, and carpenter knowledge made a rod to hang our new Iron Horse Jeans up and it looked pretty sweet! And after looking at it I thought I really want to add to that idea and well display all of our styles of the Iron Horse Jeans that we carry in our lil store. So with a hammer, two nails, a tape measure, some twine with some wire thingy in it, and a stool to stand on, I set off to just do it!
I must say it was a bit scary, kind of like trying a new hair color for the first time, and while under the dryer hoping that it looks as amazing as you pictured it would. Now with true determination I measured, hammered, and hung that twine with the skill that only I could have while doing it! And guess what?
It turned out to be the most Epic use of tools, creativity, and ingenuity that I have ever had!
I even added clothes pin's to my display for a flare!(because after all ladies its all about the accessories!)
Here is the photo mantoge of this experiment gone fabulously well!!!!

New Store Fun!

So I must say the new store is fabulous! It is warm, there is no draft, and the heater works ! But alas the dress forms can't behave even with the new addition of heat, carpet on the floors, and track lighting! You see I believe Scary Mary is leading a revolt!
Her first plan of attack is to try to commit suicide off the front step! Now this is not something that a sensible dress form would do, but ah one that is trying to lead a revolt would! OK so I hear you all! Miss Amber is losing her mind, Miss Ryan save the girl! But I kid you not every time that Scary Mary jumps off the steps the dress form I loving refer to as Bertha throws herself to the ground! And tho it has only happen once I do believe the jewelry tree may be involved as well due to the tumble it took this morning during the second suicide attempt.
Now I have had three days off and am absolutely positive this is a case of pure and utter rebellion! Do the dress forms attack Miss Ryan NO! Now I have heard of Bertha attacking but truth be told I believe she is just angry at the other dress forms. But I must say it has gotten to be sort of a game with me and Scary Mary, I pick her up say some harsh words such as "Don't make me dress you like a scarecrow on Halloween" and she of course says nothing. Then she waits for me to be working on hanging lights, working on the POS system and then decides to attempt her get away again. We are up to Scary Mary 5 attempts, Miss Amber is 5-0 and may very well lose her religion!
And I must add she is sporting the cutest Hot & Delish sweater vest, with a banging zebra cross necklace I mean HELLO she is just darling!!!!
So as I work at the blog even now in front of the computer I watch as she single handily just flew off the steps!

Why Why Why !!!!!????? Seriously was I a puppeteer in a past life that held Pinocchio hostage? I mean really what in the ficus is going on! There is no wind, it is sunny, and wait for it, might I remind you it is January!!!
Due to the hostile work environment I am putting out a disclaimer : If you enter into the store and find Miss Amber at the bottom of a pile of dress forms in the corner barely uttering the plea "Help, Help, I can't get up" please SAVE ME, call Miss Ryan ask her to come cover for me (ask her for a raise or anything that you think will aid in my recovery ;) ) And then take pictures!!! I need all the proof I can get !

Denver Market

So this last Friday Miss Amber, Miss Ryan, and Miss Roberta all jumped in Miss Ryan's car and jetted to Denver for market! Now if you have ever met Miss Amber you would never know that the girl bless her heart is EXTREMELY UNTRAVELED!!! I mean it this girl for the first time ever finally made a trip to California this past summer, and had her first exposure to Las Vegas mind you she was 31! This is the complete opposite for Miss Ryan who regularly travels all over the US and often. So Miss Ryan quickly discovered that the Cowgirl education program for Miss Amber should also include Wyo and Mt interstate education as well as fun facts to know about Wyo, and Mt. Thank goodness Miss Amber is a quick study lol
Well when the girls arrived at Denver Market they had a mission, which was truly going to serve their lil store as well as their fabulous customers! Between picking up some new lines, and checking out the fun lines being offered by Tasha Polizzi,VOGT, Double D, Rockmont, Mad Cow, Iron Horse, Black Jack, Boulet, and Triple Creek, these girls were busy!
Now it was at market that Miss Amber quickly learned that Miss Ryan and Miss Roberta know EVERYONE! I mean it folks if there was a person that walked by these girls knew them! As you all know Miss Amber is a people person, but this was even crazy for me! When I say that they know everyone I mean it! To the countless people that I met this weekend it was a both a pleasure and an honor, and please don't hold it against me if we meet again and I mix y'all y'all up with someone else!
When we met with our amazing Merchandise Reps let me just say WOW! You are all sooooooo everything that I had imagined and more! The hospitality offered by sweet Tasha and Penny at Tasha Polizzi's showroom was exactly what us tired girls needed! Plus bless them they had champagne and OJ!!! Can you say Tasha Polizzi made you a mimosa? I can!!!!! She is a doll, and tho I like a starstruck teenager complimented her on her outfit, even tho I meant to compliment her jewelry not her turtle neck (which by the way was fabuloso with runched sleeves!) she was both gracious and sweet about it! Not to mention her latest creations are Phenomenal!!!!!
We were so so excited that when we went to Vogt for our appointment Chet and Angela were waiting with open arms, sandwiches, chips, cookies, and beverages!!! This is huge when you are walking for hours and hours straight! Plus Miss Amber got to meet Miss Angela Vogt , who by the way is about the most genuine girl ever! (and my soon to be new besti : D ) They not only fed Miss Ryan and Miss Amber but my goodness the jewelry that they showed us was so so beautiful and true to Vogt in design as well as special touches that you can only get at Vogt and Elkcreek.
We were also super excited to see Miss Amy at Mad Cow Jewelry and folks she is a gem! Her designs, as well as her energy are really just one of a kind! Plus this girl introduced us girls to wine that tasted just like Pecans!!!!!! Ya I know y'all are uber jell-o!
There was so so much that we were able to see and learn about all of the new trends that are coming up for this next year! It was really just great to get to put a face to the voice that you talk to on the phone : D In all we are truly blessed to deal with all of you! And we can't wait to sell all of the fun new stuff we are getting!
Miss Amber with Miss Angela Vogt AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

WE MOVED!!!!!

Ah Finally HEAT!!!! Oh yea the Sirens are in our new store located at 1 N. Broadway, and we are LOVING IT!! But of course there is an adventure that went along with our move, I mean come on you honestly think that we could have a move that didn't have a story????
So the week of the big move Miss Ryan and Miss Amber thought that it would be most productive to get the worst cold ever! That's right you know those fabulous colds that start with the unsuspecting runny nose that ends with you having all over body aches, fever, sweet lung crushing cough, and when you throw in the sore throat to just you know put the final polish on the situation and you have one heck of a great cold! So being over achiever's we decided that Miss Ryan would get the cold first and then share it with Miss Amber :) I mean sharing is caring and that's what  people do!
So with Miss Ryan diving head on into a cold from Haiti ,  Miss Amber decided that heck it was Christmas Eve so she wanted it too! So she got it! That's right :) So after the Christmas holiday these two Sirens decided why not move that week and be up and ready for business on the first? I mean this sounded like a great plan and they so wanted to well be out of the ice chest so they decided to do that. Little did the girls know that the sweet cold that they had was going to kick their booties into bed! You see with the packing, the organizing, cleaning, selling, and don't forget the holiday as well they were plum just exhausting their lil bodies and the lil bodies retaliated with a vengeance! By that week they both ended up sitting out two days, and had to just sleep! By Dec. 30th they set to packing the store, with Miss Amber's amazing rib cracking cough, and poor Miss Ryan's nose and body aches they packed that whole day til they were spent and had to call it a night so they could rest for the next day of the move.
Now with the firm belief that our all mighty Lord has a sense of humor he well showed this with one of the coldest days in December on the 31st! That's right it was blistering cold, and the girls were not surprised. But remember the Lord does not give us more than we can handle and he provided big for the Sirens that day! With Miss Amber posted at the old store, and Miss Ryan at the new one they were ready for all of the Amazing volunteer's that came to help move them. By ten o' five they had six people two trucks, and a suburban there and the store was moved in just three short hours. Now this in itself was a blessing, it was as I said before the coldest day EVER, and yet these wonderful people chose to come help the Sirens out! They hung mirrors, carried dress forms (and we all know the danger in that!), boxes, boots, clothes, and jewelry, and never once complained! It was really with their positive spirits that we were able to get through the move. And by five thirty that night the girls had the basics set up for the store and were ready to rest for the New Year Opening!
Now with the store getting moved and all we don't know if Miss Amber was in a DayQuil induced illusion that she could handle taking down the doors that were used to separate the office from the store but that is what she decided to do! So armed with the drill thingy, a sweet cough, and a fever she took after this project! And after realizing she could do the job she was all about it! She may broke some nails, but she was sooooo excited that she had done it! And Miss Ryan was pretty excited too, though we don't know if it was excitement that Miss Amber had done the task, or if she had done the task and hadn't ran the drill through her hand!
Now Miss Ryan as you all know is a "I Can Do That Girl" She sees a task and is like I got this. And even though Miss Amber will look at her and say "Wow, wow, wow put down the pocket knife! Drill! Saw! Hammer! " She often thinks she is well indestructible. So often Miss Amber ends up covering her eyes, holding her breath and well prepares herself for a 911 call! So it is a good thing that Miss Amber missed the whole Miss Ryan scaling up a ladder into the loft of the new store, and standing precariously while moving large boxes, racks, etc up so high off the ground! Of course in Miss Ryan fashion she did this with ease, and didn't get hurt! Now if Miss Amber had attempted the same feat she would have for sure been injured!(it's not that she is clumsy, its just that she is challenged in manual labor).
Now by New Years day the girls worked to try and just arrange, and situate the store, and they did really well considering that sweet cold that they had was still hanging on!  And they decided that they should and would rest on Sunday which I believe truly helped them :)
Well come by to see the girls in their new location!!!! 1 North Broadway, and say hi !!!! Or drop them  a line on face book, blog spot, or twitter!!!
