Ah Finally HEAT!!!! Oh yea the Sirens are in our new store located at 1 N. Broadway, and we are LOVING IT!! But of course there is an adventure that went along with our move, I mean come on you honestly think that we could have a move that didn't have a story????
So the week of the big move Miss Ryan and Miss Amber thought that it would be most productive to get the worst cold ever! That's right you know those fabulous colds that start with the unsuspecting runny nose that ends with you having all over body aches, fever, sweet lung crushing cough, and when you throw in the sore throat to just you know put the final polish on the situation and you have one heck of a great cold! So being over achiever's we decided that Miss Ryan would get the cold first and then share it with Miss Amber :) I mean sharing is caring and that's what people do!
So with Miss Ryan diving head on into a cold from Haiti , Miss Amber decided that heck it was Christmas Eve so she wanted it too! So she got it! That's right :) So after the Christmas holiday these two Sirens decided why not move that week and be up and ready for business on the first? I mean this sounded like a great plan and they so wanted to well be out of the ice chest so they decided to do that. Little did the girls know that the sweet cold that they had was going to kick their booties into bed! You see with the packing, the organizing, cleaning, selling, and don't forget the holiday as well they were plum just exhausting their lil bodies and the lil bodies retaliated with a vengeance! By that week they both ended up sitting out two days, and had to just sleep! By Dec. 30th they set to packing the store, with Miss Amber's amazing rib cracking cough, and poor Miss Ryan's nose and body aches they packed that whole day til they were spent and had to call it a night so they could rest for the next day of the move.
Now with the firm belief that our all mighty Lord has a sense of humor he well showed this with one of the coldest days in December on the 31st! That's right it was blistering cold, and the girls were not surprised. But remember the Lord does not give us more than we can handle and he provided big for the Sirens that day! With Miss Amber posted at the old store, and Miss Ryan at the new one they were ready for all of the Amazing volunteer's that came to help move them. By ten o' five they had six people two trucks, and a suburban there and the store was moved in just three short hours. Now this in itself was a blessing, it was as I said before the coldest day EVER, and yet these wonderful people chose to come help the Sirens out! They hung mirrors, carried dress forms (and we all know the danger in that!), boxes, boots, clothes, and jewelry, and never once complained! It was really with their positive spirits that we were able to get through the move. And by five thirty that night the girls had the basics set up for the store and were ready to rest for the New Year Opening!
Now with the store getting moved and all we don't know if Miss Amber was in a DayQuil induced illusion that she could handle taking down the doors that were used to separate the office from the store but that is what she decided to do! So armed with the drill thingy, a sweet cough, and a fever she took after this project! And after realizing she could do the job she was all about it! She may broke some nails, but she was sooooo excited that she had done it! And Miss Ryan was pretty excited too, though we don't know if it was excitement that Miss Amber had done the task, or if she had done the task and hadn't ran the drill through her hand!
Now Miss Ryan as you all know is a "I Can Do That Girl" She sees a task and is like I got this. And even though Miss Amber will look at her and say "Wow, wow, wow put down the pocket knife! Drill! Saw! Hammer! " She often thinks she is well indestructible. So often Miss Amber ends up covering her eyes, holding her breath and well prepares herself for a 911 call! So it is a good thing that Miss Amber missed the whole Miss Ryan scaling up a ladder into the loft of the new store, and standing precariously while moving large boxes, racks, etc up so high off the ground! Of course in Miss Ryan fashion she did this with ease, and didn't get hurt! Now if Miss Amber had attempted the same feat she would have for sure been injured!(it's not that she is clumsy, its just that she is challenged in manual labor).
Now by New Years day the girls worked to try and just arrange, and situate the store, and they did really well considering that sweet cold that they had was still hanging on! And they decided that they should and would rest on Sunday which I believe truly helped them :)
Well come by to see the girls in their new location!!!! 1 North Broadway, and say hi !!!! Or drop them a line on face book, blog spot, or twitter!!!
